For those of you interested in recent history, here is an overview of the great vibraphone jazz players.

Here are a few exercises on montunos to play on the vibraphone. Besides being useful for playing latin music, they are very good to develop lateral movement. The exercises must be practiced in all keys.

Here are two very good availale Play-Alongs:
Jazz Mallets: In Session, by Arthur Lipner – www.malletworks.com. This is a great book with transcriptions, for intermediate level.

Latin Quarter; by Dave Samuels (Caribbean Jazz Project) – Aebersold vol.96 - www.jazzbooks.com. Top latin repertoire for advanced level.
A book around Milt Jackson at Abersold would more than welcome...
